24 Feb Heart Superhero #7: Dairy
Heart Super Powers
It may come as a surprise to you but milk, yogurt and cheese are part of the Mediterranean diet. In fact, when paired with lots of vegetables and fruit, these milk products can help lower blood pressure, a key factor in keeping your heart healthy (1). Even higher-fat dairy can reduce LDL cholesterol and triglycerides (2). Dairy consumption is also linked to a lower risk of stroke (3).
[Disclosure: From time to time I help Dairy Farmers of Canada with projects. No compensation was received for this post.]
